We’ve checked our work in the daylight hours and it looks pretty good. We’re a bit shaky from lack of sleep, but I feel like by tomorrow we’ll be strong on our feet. So what’s next? Masonry. Our goal is to begin our cinder block wall on Monday and to have it completed by the end of Thursday. Again, this wall will sit on the footers, around the entire perimeter of what will be the cement slab in the middle of the house. The inside edges of the containers will sit on these walls. At the rate we’re going, we hope to make our trip to Charleston, SC sometime within the next 3 weeks to adopt our 2 shipping containers. Aaaaaaaah!
You guys send us some of the coolest info on alternative home building. This one was sent by a member of my family and it’s pretty spectacular.
Almost 21 million pallets make their way to U.S. landfills each year…enough to house 40,000 refugees. Let’s get building.
Good night sweet readers!
