This morning we treaded through the muck and mire to clear out our rain filled footers and to knock out our bulkheads which we learned through sweat and muscle power, were incredibly well fortified. So, now they’re all cleaned up, ready to be surveyed and then let the cinder block laying begin!
All that remains…
A few tips from my home building papa…
1. Pour some cheap/used motor oil on the boards before setting in place to make removal easier
2. Bang on the bulkheads once set to facilitate a smoother, less aggregate appearing surface
3. Remove bulkheads the next day, gets harder the longer you wait (quite literally)
