Color Correction (Hopefully)

After a solid day of work, I slipped home,  served up some amazing (if I do say so myself) soul food, and then we all headed over to Sherwin Williams to try and get this paint color debacle under control. They took great care of us and I think a few drops of black later, we might be on the right track. Thank you all for your input. It’s still close to the same color, just a little less “vibrant.”

Looks like a couple of rainy days ahead, but if that means dry the rest of the week then we’ll take it! The drier our land, the better for the crane to pull on and off the lot. There’s a few things to finish up before Friday morning, but we feel confident about being ready to go.

Big thank you for all of the support that has carried us this far. It boggles our brains that two real live shipping containers will be placed, within days, on a little piece of land we purchased a few months ago. This time last year we would’ve never seen it coming. Let your dreams bust open. Most are waiting to be realized…

  1. What is the cost of the cranes coming in to “place” the containers on the footers? I may well be doing the same thing and I’m curious… I know your number will be different than mine. I’m just looking for an idea…. THANKS! Tracey in VA

    1. We’re building ours in Texas. I have called around and found that we will be around 130 an hour for the crane with an estimated 3-6 hrs. I was actually very surprised that it was not allot more.

    2. We need a 50+ ton crane. Here in NC they run around $150/hr with a 4 hour minimum and you have to have a “support truck” with all the crane’s gear which runs $250/day so were looking at $850 minimum if we can get it done in 4 hours or less…

    3. Hey Tracey. For us, the crane is $150/hr with a 4 hour minimum. We are hoping to not go over that 4 hour mark. The truck that will bring the containers to the lot is $250 per day. Hope that helps!

  2. Just want to let you know how much we enjoy your blog. Keep up the good work! You have a lot of people cheering for you!
