Yesterday Michael and I put 1” x 4” x16′ purlins every 10 inches horizontally. My friends Jerson and Cheecharone came and lent a hand. We got through 1 1/2 rows of them before we ran out. We went to Home Depot to get a bunch of 1” x 4” x12″ to finish the second row. Tomorrow we will put the roof on these purlins. They give the roof an inch of air to let out heat and cold of the metal before it hits the roof deck. This method is supposed to help block the heat/cold of the roof by 40%!
